Ah, the humble gin martini. Simple, sophisticated and refreshing.
It has long been high society’s beverage of choice, enjoyed by famous film stars and high-powered heads of state alike. A cocktail as uncomplicated as the gin martini takes much of its character from the gin that forms its base. But just as every star needs an understudy, every hero a sidekick, even the finest gin needs the support of aromatic vermouth to form the best martini. Our recipe for a rich and full-bodied gin martini casts Monkey 47 2020 Distiller’s Cut in the lead role. The unusual complexity and robustness of this barrel-aged gin is best complemented by semi-dry vermouth, and we recommend the classy and obtainable Lively White by Regal Rogue.
