Pop Open the Good Times with these Artisanal Bottled Cocktails

Taylor & Smith, the top-rated Tasmanian artisan distillery, have collaborated with Hobart establishment Dier Makr to create a small range of bottled gin cocktails, and we are obsessed.

Why is this a match made in heaven?

Well, Taylor & Smith are one of Tasmania's finest distilleries, making a lip-smacking range of liquors, the likes of which include their Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky. The distillery is probably best known for its gins, including their Dry Gin—a subtle combination of botanicals including sage, abalone shell, Huon Pine needles and red grapefruit; and their classic Gin—infused with 17 traditional and contemporary Tasmanian botanicals.

Then there is Dier Makr, one of Hobart's prized culinary experiences and a restaurant known for its minimalist and locally sourced menu, impressive glass wine room, and delightful aperitifs. The restaurant is only open Thursday to Saturday and offers a tantalising $120 tasting menu. As part of the dining experience, visitors to Dier Makr are whisked away by a waiter to the impressive wine room to handpick a bottle of wine. Alternatively, alcoholic beverage pairing is available at an additional cost.

Safe to say, the distillery and restaurant duo knows a thing or two about making mouth-watering beverages. Taylor & Smith and Dier Makr first offered their cocktails at Dark Mofo's iconic Winter Feast, and due to the drinks' resounding popularity, the partners then decided to bottle them up for cocktail lovers to enjoy at home.

So, what's on offer? Let's take a look at their stylishly packaged cocktail range.

Taylor & Smith Bottled Cocktails

Negroni Cocktail

This cocktail of bitter Italian gin is an absolute classic. Best served over a block of ice and with a twist of orange. To enhance the bitter gin's taste, twist the orange so that the rind's oils seep onto the drink's surface. These tasty cocktails come in both minibar 100ml bottles and 500ml to ensure the good times keep rolling.

Dirty Martini Cocktail

Elevate cocktail hour on your patio with Taylor & Smith and Dier Makr's take on a Dirty Martini. Made with salty brine, dry gin and best served with a classic green olive.

Hanky Panky Cocktail

The Hobart-produced Hanky Panky is a bittersweet gin martini. Best served with a twist of fragrant orange. To enhance the taste of the bitter gin, twist the orange, so the oils of the rind seep onto the surface of the drink.

Army and Navy Cocktail

The Army & Navy—a refreshing citrus and almond gin sour—is best served with lemon, twisted so the rind's oils seep onto the surface of the drink.

To get your hands on this epic range of cocktails, visit Taylor & Smith. There is a $10 flat rate shipping across Australia, with orders dispatched on the following business day.
