4 Perfumes That Always Get the Best Reviews

Perfume is one of the most important beauty products in anyone’s repertoire. No matter your age, taste, style, or look, perfume is a universal way of rounding out a look.

Not only that, but perfume is the key ingredient for rounding out your vibe as a whole. While it’s not as outwardly noticeable as something like makeup might be—hello, red lipstick—it’s subtle there-ness reminds us that there is more than meets the eye.

While perfume is undeniably a very personal matter, some scents win over hearts more than others. Of course, you need to find a smell that suits your personality, feel, and style. But where to start?

We don’t recommend flat-out copying someone else’s signature scent, but using feedback from others is always a great place to start. Thanks to the internet and the ability to easily sort through hundreds of reviews, its super-easy to see what other people think.

In the vast world of perfume, hopefully knowing what people are raving about can help you determine which brands and scents you may be interested to learn more about.

Here, we’ve scoured the net to find a few perfumes that constantly get rave reviews. That way, you start with a pre-curated list to make finding your signature scent that much easier. You’re welcome.

Keep scrolling to see our top four.

4 of the Best-Rated Luxury Perfumes

Maison Margiela, By The Fireplace EDT

It’s no secret that Maison Margiela fragrances are well-loved, but this one has to take the cake. Rated 4.8/ 5 stars on Mecca, By the Fireplace eau de toilette is a crowdpleaser. According to Mecca, “this warm and comforting scent combines notes of spicy pepper and clove oil with sweet chestnut and vanilla and smokey gaic wood oil. A few spritzes of this unisex fragrance will transport you straight to the mountains of Chamonix.”

Reviewers confirm, gushing over the uniquely spicy but warm scent. “This fragrance is totally captivating and one of my favourites of 2020,” reviewer Style29 wrote. “Blind buy? I did. No regrets.”

Byredo, Gypsy Water

You wouldn’t believe how many reviewers tout this as their signature scent. Not to mention that multiple claimed that they love this perfume despite disliking perfume in general. According to Mecca, the perfume “was created as an ode to the beauty of the roaming Romani culture, its unique customs, intimate beliefs and distinguished way of living.” Rich notes of amber and vanilla are cut through with the zingy addition of Juniper berry.

Reviewer Lily1976 pretty much sums up the fanatic feeling around this scent perfectly: “Beautiful and sublime. First time purchasing this perfume. My friend wears this perfume. I was in love with the smell. I had to have it. It’s the best perfume I have ever purchased. The smell is so exquisite and sublime. Thank you mecca for having this perfume. In love.”

Juliette Has a Gun, Not A Perfume Superdose Eau De Parfum

Juliette Has a Gun will be a brand familiar amongst most fragrance buffs. Based off of the brand’s infamous “Not a Perfume” eau de toilette, this perfume takes the same scent and amps it up a notch. Sephora writes: “It is obviously still a clean, fresh and elegant fragrance leaving an even more powerful trail. An explosive name for an explosive fragrance.”

“I love this perfume, its not an overpowering scent and can be layered on top of other perfumes to accentuate their scent,” one reviewer Alana wrote. “I get complimented on this perfume whenever I wear it and find its quite a bougie rich smell.”

Tom Ford, Lost Cherry

If there is one brand that seems to be constantly mentioned as “best of” when it comes to perfume, it very well may be Tom Ford. Lost Cherry is no exception. This full-bodied perfume beautifully melds the scents of bitter almonds, black cherries, jasmine, and woody notes to create a concoction unlike any other. Self-described as, “a contrasting scent that reveals a tempting dichotomy of playful, candy-like gleam on the outside and luscious flesh on the inside,” this is one worthy of a try.

“I feel very special when wearing this perfume,” reviewer ocean_breeze wrote on Meyer’s website. “This purchase made me very happy and I am in love with this fragrance. The smell stays on for the whole day on your skin and even for a few days on the clothes.”
