This Luxury Toothpaste Has the Coolest Packaging
Boring old mint toothpaste in dentist-approved tubes got you down? Feel like your bathroom sink needs a fresh new product? Daily brushing feeling like a bit of a chore?
Yep, we feel you. When every other aspect of our lives has been tweaked, updated and given the luxury treatment, why must our toothpaste—something we use at least twice a day—be such an afterthought?
Well, no longer! This is the decade of luxury toothpaste from high-end beauty brands. There are several on the market now, from brands including Marvis, Selahatin, Theodent, LEBON, Aesop and Botot, ranging upwards of $100 a tube.
But there's one brand in particular that we’re excited about squeezing out for our two minutes morning and night: Officine Universelle Buly.
Purveyors of luxury beauty and personal care products, Parisian brand Officine Universelle Buly was established in 1803 with a range of perfumes and scented vinegar. Today, the brand draws on innovative techniques alongside natural ingredients and traditional recipes.
Along with its range of perfumes, skincare and beauty products, Officine Universelle Buly has a selection of oral care products, including toothbrushes, mouthwash, dental floss, tongue scrapers, mints and, of course, toothpaste. The Opiat Dentaire toothpaste comes in three flavours: Mint, coriander and cucumber; apple of Montauban; and orange, ginger and clove—all distinctly more interesting than plain old spearmint.
The arty tubes are plastic-free and adorned with a toothy serpent, and are sure to be a conversation starter when guests notice them on your bathroom bench. The brand now also sells separate caps designed to look like vintage taps that allow your tube to stand upright as a vanity adornment, rather than get lost among your toothbrushes.
The toothpaste itself is made with thermal water from a famous French spa town, Castéra-Verduzan, in the Gers region, which is naturally high in sulphates, calcium and magnesium. The toothpaste claims to disinfect and clean the mouth and throat, treating and preventing bad breath, sore throats, mouth ulcers and gum disease, and leaving you with super fresh breath. L’Officine Universelle Buly Opiat Dentaire toothpaste contains no fluoride, so if you make the switch to this luxury toothpaste, you’ll need to maintain your twice-yearly visits to your dentist to help protect against cavities.
You can buy Opiat Dentaire Orange Ginger Clove, Montauban Apple and Mint Coriander Cucumber Toothpastes at Mecca for $35 a tube, along with a variety of other wellness, beauty and fragrance products from the French brand. So give your bathroom a luxe upgrade and make the finishing touch a tube of the finest toothpaste we’ve ever tried.
