Sea Temple Port Douglas is Perfect for Your Next Holiday
Planning a little getaway? Same, honestly, and we’ve got our eyes on Pullman Port Douglas Sea Temple Resort and Spa. Perched on the Coral Sea in the tropical far north of Queensland, Port Douglas Sea Temple is a luxury resort with a variety of accommodation options, a fine-dining restaurant and a luxury spa.
Accomodation
The resort has a wide range of accommodation options. You can choose from studio rooms to resort apartments with one, two, or three bedrooms—some you can even swim up to. For something a little more secluded, there are also private villas. The decor in each of the rooms is sleek and modern, with plenty of natural materials and natural sunlight. All accommodations are arranged around the lagoon-style pool, creating a feeling of being surrounded by water.
The Pool
The lagoon pool itself is a whopping 3,000 square meters, and it acts as the heart of the resort. Tropical plants and loungers ring the pool, and post-swim cocktails are de rigueur. Several of the accommodation options have private plunge pools too, so you’ve got plenty of options when you’re in the mood to take a dip.
Dining
When you start feeling peckish, there are a few dining options to choose from. Your first port of call ought to be Aluco restaurant and bar, one of the finest dining options in Port Douglas. From breakfast to dinner, and all the bites in between, Aluco is serving up food inspired by the flavours and ingredients of the tropics. With views over the lagoon poo (which is illuminated by firelight at night) the ambience is every bit as good as the food.
If you’d rather be a bit closer to the action, the pool bar serves cocktails, snacks and a light lunch so you can dine between dips. Or you can stay far away from the action with in-room dining Friday to Sunday evenings.
The Spa
Between swimming and eating, you’ll need to make time in your busy schedule for a treatment or two at Vie Spa. They offer a range of excellent beauty and body treatments, and the high levels of service and attention to detail means the experience will be transforming. Choose a massage, scrub or facial, or combine them with one of the spa’s signature rituals.
We like the look of Heaven on Earth, a 120-minute experience that includes a full body massage and exfoliation, an organic facial and a soothing foot treatment. Alternatively, the White Flannel Flower Ritual uses the native flower to give you a radiant, all-over glow. The 90-minute experience includes an organic coconut and jasmine body polish, wild yam and white flannel flower hydrating cocoon, baobab and neroli scalp and facial massage, an organic age-defying body soufflé and a foot restoration massage.
Of course, if you can bring yourself to leave, the hotel is perfectly situated to allow guests to explore the Great Barrier Reef, the Daintree Rainforest and the stunning Mossman Gorge. Closer in, Port Douglas is an attractive and charming coastal town, with plenty of boutique shops, restaurants, cafes and a bustling Sunday market.
