A Limited Release of Tasmanian Whisky Is Here

Taylor & Smith is a Tasmanian distilling company, best known for its award-winning artisanal gin. Since opening, however, the brand has expanded—launching its first range of lip-smacking single malt whisky in 2020.

And whisky lovers, you're in luck. The distillery just launched a new release of its Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky. There are only 100 bottles available, so make sure you act quick.

Who are Taylor& Smith?

Taylor & Smith Distillery Co is run by Ben Taylor and Natalie Smith. The duo began their distilling journey in a converted shed in 2017, experimenting with local Tassie botanicals and creating spirits to reflect the region and local landscape.

Natalie and Ben initially began dropping off little jam jars of gin on their neighbours’ doorstep and, in return, would receive a selection of quinces, lemons, and other botanicals to aid in creating their unique and subtle flavour profiles.

After much experimenting and fine-tuning, the independent distillery launched its first batch of gin in 2018. And the rest is history.

Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky

Taylor & Smith’s Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky (affectionately dubbed a "glass of sunshine") is a labour of love. The Tasmanian malted barley is firstly hand-milled, then mashed, fermented with a unique yeast profile and distilled with direct firing.

The whisky, produced in 3 different barrels, takes on the character of each respective barrel to create warm and delicious whiskies that are “vibrant, complex and passionate in flavour, soft and smooth on the palate.”

Each 500ml bottle of Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky is hand-numbered and can be purchased with or without a colourful and reusable display box. Take your pick of Barrel 19, 20 and 21—each with a unique taste:
