Yes, Vera Wang Has Her Own Vodka Now

While collaborations in high fashion have become commonplace; this one may come as a bit of a surprise.

Fashion mogul Vera Wang has teamed up with Chopin Vodka in what has been labelled "the first vodka-fashion collaboration ever to launch in the US." Given that vodka is Wang's purported tipple of choice, this is undoubtedly a match made in heaven.

We have previously seen high-end designers like Vivienne Westwood use their artistic flair to design liquor bottles. However, Wang has upped the ante, not only helping to design the bottle but selecting the potatoes and developing this one-of-a-kind vodka.

Vera Wang X Chopin Vodka

According to Wang's Instagram, the designer spent 10 hours tasting and savouring various preparations, while Chopin founder Tad Dorda taught her about the vodka distillation process. Together, Wang and Dorda "tested 14 variations in a makeshift lab in Vera's home kitchen to find the expression that best embodies her passion for vodka."

The vodka itself is produced in the picturesque village of Krzesk in Poland—where the Chopin Vodka distillery is located. The special variety of young potatoes selected by Wang are sustainably grown without the use of chemicals or pesticides and result in a "vodka that is delicately flavourful, sophisticated and amazingly nuanced."
The final product is naturally gluten-free, with a distinct taste, aroma, complexity and character. Thanks to Wang, it's unlike any other Chopin product to date.

The Bottle

The designer did not veer far in terms of form, opting to retain Chopin's iconic bottle shape. Aside from the shape, the bottle is firmly imprinted with her modern sense of style and sophistication. The bottle is matte black and white with Vera Wang elegantly overlaid atop the Chopin name.

On the back of the bottle is an ode "to Wang's unique and highly personal relationship with vodka: how it makes her feel, the memories it conjures up, and the emotion, sensuality, and romance vodka represents to her."
